Specific types of initiatives are required to prevent, protect and ensure justice for children that have been impacted by sexual exploitation. ECPAT engages in these activities through various programs and projects across the regions of the world. Below please find a sample of some of these activities. Programs in regions around the world:
• The Youth Partnership Project for child survivors of commercial sexual exploitation in South Asia (YPP) focuses on child victims, who have been trafficked, exploited and are recovering from the harm and trauma. (Keyword: YPP Africa, Asia, America, Europe)
•Agenda for Action program: ECPAT is taking a lead role in the follow-up of the World Congress III Against Sexual Exploitation of Children to strengthen implementation of the actions agreed including a major anti child trafficking campaign (keyword: Congress ).
•Join our global campaign launched in partnership with Body Shop against child trafficking which is now underway (keyword: Trafficking)
• Program to end sexual exploitation of children in tourism : works to train tourism and travel personnel to prevent the misuse of their services and infrastructure for exploitation of children; with local communities to raise awareness and take steps to monitor child protection in high risk areas and, with the local institutions of protection to improve identification of risk, action for prevention, and protection for delivery of justice and support. • The Care & Protection program, works with care providers to ensure application of child protection measures and care standards in their programs, shelters and other interventions that they undertake with and for children. (Keyword: Care)
• Program to prevent and stop exploitation of children in Information and Communication Technology & Cyberspace works with children, teachers and the ICT industry to ensure that measures are in place to ensure protection for children in the online environment. (Keyword: ICT)
• In the scope of its Legal Programme ECPAT supports Legal work for development of a comprehensive legal framework for deterring crimes, managing investigations, prosecuting perpetrators and protecting and assisting children in their recovery. (Keyword: Legal)
• ECPAT is active in Africa, the Americas, East Asia and the Pacific, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and South Asia.
